Ah, the American Dream. For generations we were told that through hard work and ingenuity we could build better lives for our families and ourselves. This, in turn, would pave the way to a more prosperous future for generations on the down the line. No matter our skin color, the language we spoke, or where we'd come from, we all were part of "the dream."

But, as the late, great George Carlin once said: "It's called The American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it!"
